Fans planning to attend the Ryder Cup in 2027 at Adare Manor in County Limerick will face significantly higher ticket prices compared to past events. Ryder Cup Europe has announced that daily tickets for the prestigious golf tournament, where the US will aim to reclaim the trophy, will be priced at €499 (£434) when released to Irish residents. This marks a steep increase from the €260 face value of tickets sold three years ago in Rome.
Despite the notable price hike, the cost remains lower than the $750 (£555) charged for attending last year’s tournament in Bethpage, New York, where Europe triumphed over the US. Richard Atkinson, the chief Ryder Cup officer, emphasized that the organization has made efforts to keep the event accessible, with practice-day tickets starting at €89 for adults and €20 for children on Tuesday and Wednesday, escalating to €179 and €30 on Thursday, which includes the opening ceremony.
Atkinson explained that the decision to increase prices reflects changes over the past four years and the global stature of the Ryder Cup. “We acknowledge it’s an increase from Rome. That was four years ago and a lot has happened in the world since then. Our prices are proportionate to a global sporting event. This event has grown in stature and profile, it’s one of the biggest sporting events in the world,” he stated, expressing confidence in the pricing strategy while underscoring the accessibility of the practice day tickets.
In an effort to offset the impact of higher ticket costs, organizers promise an “enhanced experience” for attendees. This will be the first time the Ryder Cup returns to Ireland since 2006, when Europe claimed victory at the K Club in Straffan, County Kildare. Planned enhancements include a record 20,000 grandstand seats and more giant screens to improve the viewing experience for the fans.
As the centenary event approaches, the focus remains on ensuring that the Ryder Cup continues to be a major draw for a diverse audience. By balancing elevated ticket prices with improved amenities and accessibility options, the organizers aim to offer an unforgettable experience at one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events.
