The Anti-Liver Diet: 3 Food Groups to Purge from Your Kitchen

Date:

For a truly liver-friendly lifestyle, a top gastroenterologist suggests starting with a kitchen purge. He has identified three food groups that represent an “anti-liver diet” and should be removed from your home. The first is sugary drinks. The doctor’s advice is to get rid of all sodas and juices, which he calls “liquid poison,” as they are a primary cause of fatty liver. The second is deep-fried foods and the unhealthy oils used to make them. He recommends purging your pantry of hydrogenated oils and cutting back on foods that require deep frying. The third group is ultra-processed foods. He advises a clean-out of snacks like chips and candies, and convenience meals like instant noodles and hot dogs, as they are loaded with liver-straining ingredients. By purging these items from your kitchen, you create an environment that naturally supports better liver health.
